Wine List
Long before Hollywood (notably in Sideways) discovered the glories of Santa Barbara Wine Country, Frank Ostini and Gray Hartley were busy crafting wines at home while holding down full time jobs. Gray was a commercial fisherman, and Frank was chef (with his brother Bill) of the Hitching Post. Frank and Gray made their first wine at home in 1979, and their first Pinot Noir in 1981. The first Hitching Post wines were created at Byron Winery (1984-89). The brand moved to Au Bon Climat/Qupe Winery (1991-2000), Central Coast Wine Services in Santa Maria (2001-07). Frank and Gray produce their wine at the facilities of Au Bon Climat at Bien Nacido Vineyards in the Santa Maria Valley AVA.
Many vintages and different vineyard bottlings are offered here for your dinner this evening. Several wines are available by the taste (in our bar) and bottles are available for retail take home.
Some of the wines in the list are available by both bottle
and glass and are noted below.
